Shoutout to my mom for that freezer meal advice I laughed at

My mom told me last year to spend $20 on bulk chicken and freeze it in single portions with marinade, and I told her that was way too much work for no reason. Fast forward 6 months and I've saved around $15 a week by not grabbing fast food after my delivery shifts. Has anyone else had a family member give you a tip that actually saved you money in the long run?

Gotta admit the real money saver is actually the time you save not making extra trips to the store, since you always have something ready to cook. Did your mom mention how much freezer space you'd need or did you figure that out yourself?

My mom actually gave me the heads up on freezer space the hard way. I bought two big packs of chicken thighs and a family size lasagna from Costco before realizing my apartment freezer can barely hold a bag of peas. Had to eat lasagna for breakfast, lunch and dinner for three days straight. Kind of learned my lesson the soggy way.

Oh wait, I think you might be mixing up who gave the heads up. Kaigibson said their mom warned them but they didn't listen, not that they figured it out themselves. Did you catch that part?

Man that sounds rough, I've definitely been there myself.
