Tried frozen veggies vs fresh for a month straight
I did an experiment last month where I cooked meals using only frozen vegetables one week and fresh the next. The frozen ones saved me about $12 each trip to the store. But the fresh ones tasted way better and didn't turn into mush when I cooked them. I ended up wasting a lot less fresh stuff too because I prepped them right after buying. Has anyone else noticed that frozen carrots and broccoli just don't hold up in a stir fry?

Was it just the texture that bugged you or did the frozen ones taste different too? I swear frozen broccoli gets this weird sweet-sour taste that fresh doesn't have, especially when you stir fry it. Did you notice that? Also what about stuff like peas or corn because those are usually frozen anyway and nobody really complains about them.

Does that weird taste happen with all frozen veggies or just broccoli?

Oh man, the frozen broccoli thing is real. That sweet-sour taste hits every time, like the freezer is trying to candy the florets. Peas and corn are totally fine because they're already sweet and the texture holds up better. But frozen broccoli gets that weird watery crunch that fresh never has. The stalks especially get this bitter aftertaste that lingers. It's like the freezer version is a slightly sad imitation of the real thing.
