Used to just throw whatever I had in a slow cooker and hope for the best back in the 90s
Now I actually plan my meals around what's on sale at the grocery store in Harrisburg, which saves me about $30 a week. Has anyone else found that a little prep work beats just dumping cans together?

Shoot, I actually went back to the dump-and-go method last month cause planning just stressed me out more than it saved. Half the time the "sale" items never really hit the spot and ended up in the trash anyway.

That "half the time the sale items ended up in the trash" part hits home. I've done that exact thing, wasted money on stuff that looked good on paper but nobody actually wanted to eat. Sometimes the stress of planning just isn't worth the few bucks saved. Yeah, we probably all end up paying some kind of tax for convenience anyway.

That's what finally clicked for me too, just keeping it simple with stuff from the weekly ad.
