Vent: My coworker said my meal prep looked like 'sad beige food' and she had a point
I've been doing the same rice, chicken, and broccoli for 3 months straight and honestly it was depressing to eat. She suggested I swap in a $1.50 bag of frozen mixed veggies and some soy sauce, now my lunches actually taste like something instead of cardboard.
I mean, I saw some dietitian talking about how variety in colors actually helps you absorb more nutrients, not just for looks. The frozen mixed veggie swap is genius though, I started doing the same thing with my meal prep and it honestly broke the monotony. Plus the color change makes your brain think the food is more satisfying, at least that's what I read somewhere. Soy sauce is a game changer too, I add a splash of mirin now and it tastes way less sad.
