Warning: My grocery spreadsheet hit 12 weeks and I threw a party over a can of beans
I started tracking every grocery run back in January just to see where cash was leaking, and last Friday the sheet hit week 12 of staying under $55 a trip. My girlfriend walked in while I was literally high fiving myself over a 79 cent can of black beans, which is a weird thing to celebrate out loud. This matters since I used to blow $90 a week easy on stuff that went bad in the drawer. The dumb part is the beans were just sitting there, I didn't even cook anything with them that night. What's the one cheap item you buy that makes you feel like you beat the store?
Honestly used to roll my eyes at people who got excited over a cheap can of beans, figured it was just a weird flex. Now that I've been tracking my own runs, catching a deal like that actually feels like a win, dumb as it sounds.
