I finally cracked the code on cheap flights from Boston after a disaster at Logan last spring
I was trying to get to Portland Oregon for a wedding and the tickets were like $500 round trip. I figured I'd just book whatever was cheapest but I ended up stuck at a gate for 6 hours because my connection got cancelled. That's when I started digging into flight patterns and realized flying out of Providence Rhode Island instead of Logan saves me like $150 on average. It's only an hour drive and parking is like $8 a day compared to Logan's $40. Now I check both airports before I book anything and it's made a huge difference for my wallet. Has anyone else found a hidden airport near them that cuts costs?

For real the hidden airport thing is like a life cheat code. I live near Philly and people sleep on Trenton Mercer and even Allentown. Same thing happens with grocery stores too though lol everyone drives past the Aldi to go to the big chain and pays double for eggs. It's like people just get locked into one habit and never question it until something forces them to look around. The airport trick especially though because saving $150 on a flight means you can actually afford to not pack a sandwich for the trip. Parking being cheaper is the real hidden win too because that's where they nail you with fees nobody talks about.

Haha seriously though, I’m the guy who drove past two Walmarts to get to the one I always go to for like three years before realizing the closer one was a mile away.

Mercer's parking lot is basically empty on a Tuesday, feels like having your own private terminal.
