My brother swore by staying in hostels to save money but I called it crazy until I booked one in Barcelona for 18 euros a night.

Turns out he was right, the place was clean, had a free walking tour, and I met three other travelers who split a rental car with me to explore the coast for less than 30 bucks each, anyone else had a cheap hostel change your mind about shared rooms?

18 euros a night? That's less than I paid for a parking spot for one hour in downtown Denver last week. Guess I'm moving to Barcelona.
