My cheap travel pillow totally failed on a 14-hour bus ride to Denver

The beads shifted after an hour and I had to stuff my jacket under my neck. Anyone have a budget-friendly pillow that actually holds up?

Ugh, did it feel like the beads were actively trying to escape? I had the same thing happen on a train trip last year. The pillow went flat on one side and puffed up on the other, so my head was tilted at this awful angle the whole time. I ended up just balling it up and using it like a weird lumpy scarf. I've heard those memory foam ones are better for holding shape, but I haven't tried one myself yet.

That lumpy scarf move is a classic. My last bead pillow basically staged a full rebellion. Woke up with my chin on my chest and a single bead poking my ear like it was trying to send a morse code distress signal. Memory foam sounds smart, but knowing my luck I'd get one that just molds into the shape of a brick.

Hold up, a bead poking your ear in morse code? That's a new level of pillow betrayal. I can just picture it tapping out "SOS" while you're trying to sleep. My old one just went flat and left my neck feeling broken, but yours was sending secret messages. That's way worse.

My old bead pillow did that too, finleyl39, it felt like a bag of angry marbles.
