My dumb airport food mistake in Rome cost me 80 euros

I mean, I knew airport food was pricey, but I was starving after a long flight to Rome and just grabbed a sandwich, a drink, and some chips at a cafe right by the gate. I didn't even look at the prices until I paid. It was 80 euros, idk, maybe like 85 bucks. For a soggy sandwich and a Coke. I could have walked for five minutes to a different terminal and gotten a full pizza for half that. Has anyone else gotten totally wrecked by airport food and have a better plan?

Yeah airport food is a total scam, saw a video where a guy bought a $30 beer at JFK.
