My hostel breakfast strategy in Bangkok went from $10 a day to under $2
When I first got to Bangkok, I'd just grab whatever looked good from the 7-Eleven near my hostel every morning. I was spending about 300 baht, so like $10, on a coffee, a pastry, and some fruit. Did that for a week. Then I started talking to a long-term traveler in my dorm who showed me the local wet market two blocks over. I switched to buying a big bag of mangoes, a bunch of bananas, and a pack of instant coffee from a stall there. Same amount of food, but it cost me maybe 50 baht total. The change happened literally overnight after that one conversation. It made me think, is the real budget hack just avoiding convenience stores altogether in big cities, or is there a line where the time spent hunting for a market isn't worth the few bucks saved? What's your take on balancing convenience with cost for daily meals?

Sometimes that extra hour of sleep is worth ten bucks.

But that hour of sleep costs way more than ten bucks if you think about it.
