That hostel in Prague really changed how I pack for trips now
I was staying at this cheap place near the old town square last summer and realized all my stuff was way too bulky after watching backpackers roll through with just a daypack. Then I spent 15 minutes digging through my suitcase for a stupid phone charger while someone with a 20-liter bag was already out the door. Has anyone else had a specific spot or moment that made you rethink your whole packing routine?

Used to roll my eyes at the ultralight packing people... thought they were just showing off. Then I stayed at this little guesthouse in Rome where the elevator was broken and my giant rolly suitcase had to go up three flights of stairs. By the time I huffed and puffed to the top I was sweating through my shirt and seriously questioning my life choices. Now I pack like I'm about to have to run through an airport with everything on my back.

Nah I used to be one of those people who thought everyone on Instagram with their tiny backpacks was just trying to look cool for photos. But after backpacking through three countries in two weeks and hauling a duffel bag that weighed way too much, I started realizing those guys were onto something simple and practical. Now I just take what fits in a 30 liter bag and it makes everything easier.

My friend did the same thing in a hostel in Barcelona and shipped half her stuff home.

My friend once emptied her whole suitcase in a Vienna hostel lobby to find one clean sock.
