The $9 laundry bag that turned into a personal assistant in Rome
Last spring I was in Rome for 5 days and my duffel zipper blew out at the train station. I bought a cheap mesh laundry bag from a street vendor for 9 euros to haul my stuff. Turns out that mesh bag is perfect for hand-washing socks and shirts in hostel sinks, and it dries in like 3 hours. I also used it as a dirty clothes separator on the way back, which saved me from mixing sweaty shirts with clean ones. Now I bring one on every trip, it weighs almost nothing and costs less than a coffee. Anyone else found a random item that pulls triple duty on the road?
