Almost missed rent because I moved my auto transfer to the 1st instead of payday
I get paid on the 15th and the last day of the month, so back in March I set my savings auto transfer to hit on the 1st. Figured it would be simpler to remember. Then April came around, the transfer fired on the 1st, and my rent check bounced two days later. Cost me $35 with my bank plus a $50 late fee at my apartment office here in Mesa. I ended up $85 in the hole over a date change I made to save myself 10 seconds of thinking. Now I keep every auto draft pinned to the day after my direct deposit actually lands, not some random number that looks neat on a calendar. Has anyone else had an auto transfer bite them like that?
