Finally stopped hating monthly budgeting after a good week in June

I used to think budgeting was just about saying no to things, but last June I tracked every dollar for 7 days and ended up with an extra $47 at the end of the week. It was the first time I saw my spending actually line up with my plan, and it convinced me there's a payoff if you stick with it. Has anyone else had a single week change how they feel about budgeting?

Man that $47 surplus hit different, right? It's wild how seeing the number line up just clicks something in your brain.

Did your brain short circuit from the sheer thrill of seeing a number that ends in 7? I swear, my brain just sees $47 and immediately starts calculating how that's like three cheap lunches and a coffee. But yeah, it's hilarious how a random surplus amount can make you feel like a financial genius for a solid thirty seconds. Almost makes you forget you spent twice that on overpriced gas last week.

But doesn't that $47 just get swallowed up by something else you forgot to budget for...
