I hit $500 in my 'forget it' fund and it felt weird
Everyone says to save for big goals, but seeing that cash just sit there for stuff I don't plan for made me question if it's really a win. It's from rounding up my checking account change for a year. Anyone else get a number that made them rethink the point of saving?

Honestly, that fund is for when life just happens. My car's check engine light came on last month and that exact kind of cash sitting there meant I didn't have to panic or put it on a card. It's not for a gadget, it's for the random Tuesday that tries to wreck your budget.

That's the weird part about saving money, you finally get some and then feel bad about not spending it lol. It's like your brain wants to have it both ways. Just call it a win and forget it, that's the whole point.

My own forget it fund is just a fancy name for the money I'll eventually blow on a weird kitchen gadget.
