My old way of buying coffee felt normal until I did the math
For years, I grabbed a latte on my way to work, about $4.50 a pop. It was just part of the routine. Then last January, I added it all up and saw it was over $90 a month. I switched to making a big pot at home and taking it in a thermos. The fancy beans still cost me, but only about $20 for the whole month. It's a small change, but seeing that extra $70 stay in my account feels better than the drive-thru ever did. Anyone else have a daily habit they quietly swapped out?

My gym membership was a similar drain at sixty bucks a month. I canceled it and started running at the local park instead. The savings are nice, but I honestly enjoy the fresh air more now.

Sixty bucks a month just to run on a treadmill, @margaretramirez. I mean, my local park is free and has way fewer people grunting.

Yeah the park is great until you get caught in a downpour. Got soaked last Tuesday, looked like a drowned rat. @margaretramirez has the right idea with the fresh air though, beats that gym smell any day. My shoes are still drying out on the radiator.
