Overheard a lady at Target say her 'no buy' month saved her $400

I was standing in line at the Target in Springfield last Saturday and this woman ahead of me was telling her friend she did a 'no buy' for 30 days and put away $400. She said she just stopped buying clothes, coffee out, and random target runs and it added up fast. It made me realize how much I spend on small stuff without even thinking. Has anyone tried a no buy month and seen real savings?

Skipping coffee isn't going to magically fix a $400 spending problem long term.

Honestly, I think you're missing something here. It's not about the coffee itself being the magic fix, it's about the mindset. If someone can't handle skipping a small daily habit like coffee, how are they going to handle bigger sacrifices? Small wins build discipline, and that discipline matters way more than the $4 you save. Ngl, it's the mental shift that adds up, not just the numbers on a spreadsheet.

Oh man, skipping coffee was what got me into financial trouble in the first place. Now I'm just broke AND tired.
