Pro tip: A lady at the Piggly Wiggly in Mobile showed me her receipt and it made me rethink my whole approach. Should I copy her or stick with mine?
I was standing in line at the Piggly Wiggly on Government Street in Mobile about three weeks ago when the lady in front of me dropped her receipt. I picked it up and couldn't help but notice she got two weeks of groceries for $67. I asked her how she did it and she said she plans meals around what's on sale, not the other way around. She also said she never shops without a list and checks the clearance section first. I tried it for one week and saved $32, but it took me almost two hours to plan. My old way was fast but I spent more. So now I'm stuck between saving money and saving time. Is it worth the extra planning to save $30 a week, or am I better off just grabbing what I need and not stressing? What do you all do?
