Stopped eating out for lunch for 2 weeks straight and saved $87

I work on roofs all over the county and used to grab gas station sandwiches every day, so I started packing leftover dinners in a cooler and it cut my weekly spending from $43 to about $6, anyone else shocked by how fast little daily purchases add up?

Little things like that really DO sneak up on you. Grabbing a sandwich or coffee each day seems harmless but it adds up way faster than you'd expect. Once you stop and look at the total for a month, it's honestly kind of scary how much money goes to stuff you barely remember.

Set a weekly coffee budget and it forced me to cut back.

You ever sit down and actually add up what you spend on lunch for a whole month? I did the same thing you're talking about, started bringing soup in a thermos and leftovers from dinner, and it blew my mind how much I was throwing away just for convenience. The trick for me was making extra food the night before so I wasn't tempted to swing by the taco truck.
