Swore I'd never use a budgeting app, then Mint shut down

I was at a diner in Portland last month when my spreadsheet wouldn't load on my phone during a tips calculation. A waitress showed me YNAB on her phone and now I'm $200 ahead this month from catching a forgotten subscription.

Mint shut down? I had no idea that even happened, that's wild. Waitresses really are out here saving people from subscription bleed.

Read an article about how Mint had like 3 million users when it shut down. Crazy how something that big just disappears overnight lol. The waitress thing is honestly genius though, who's gonna question someone asking to split a check five ways at dinner? Bet she saved that guy like $40 a month on stuff he forgot he even had.

Oh man that is wild! I actually saw something about that on TikTok a while back, some guy made a whole video about how he had a Mint account with like years of data just disappear. It's kinda scary how these apps just vanish without people really noticing until its too late. The waitress thing is brilliant though, I mean seriously who's gonna say no to a server asking if they can split a check? I read somewhere that the average person is paying like $25 a month on subscriptions they forgot they even signed up for. That waitress probably saved that dude more in one dinner than she made in tips that whole shift.
