That one stat about coffee shop spending I found on my bank app
I was looking through my bank app last month (just checking my budget categories, you know) and saw I spent $178 on coffee in October alone. That felt like a lot for one person, so I looked up the national average online - turns out the average American spends around $1,100 a year on coffee. I honestly thought it was way lower, like maybe $500. Has anyone else been shocked by a specific spending category after checking their own numbers?

Wait, $178 in ONE month? Dude, that is INTENSE. I thought I was bad when I checked mine and saw I spent around $90 on coffee last month, mostly from that one drive-through spot near my office. It really hits different when you see the total number just sitting there in the app, you know?

See the totals piling up is brutal. It's scary how fast small purchases add up. @leo_black76 you're right about the drive through trap. That convenience fee is real for all of us. It's like the apps are designed to hide the real cost until the bill comes.

@leo_black76 $178 is wild but honestly I bet that number doubles for the iced latte crowd. My bank app showed $240 on takeout last month from that one Thai place alone and I still ate there three more times before the billing cycle reset.
