Coffee spills are the worst. I switched to a waterproof notebook after a similar disaster. The paper doesn't even get soggy. Just let it dry and the ink stays put.

My friend in Seattle actually scans her journal pages weekly as a backup. Martin.riley's waterproof notebook is smart for the physical side, but a digital copy would save you from losing all those past entries too. It's the one-two punch for true peace of mind.
