Appreciation post: I found out the original bullet journal method uses just 4 collections and I was overcomplicating it with 11
I was watching a video by Ryder Carroll last week and he said the whole system is meant to be quick. When I counted my own setup I had 11 collections going at once, like a mood tracker, a habit grid, a monthly spread, a weekly spread, and a brain dump. He broke down the original method as just 4 core parts and I realized I was spending 45 minutes each Sunday drawing grids instead of writing anything down. My journal turned into an art project I was afraid to mess up. I pulled out all the extra pages and my daily log got so much faster. Has anyone else here cut their setup way down and felt weirdly guilty about it at first?
