Remember when we all used to hand draw those perfect monthly calendars?

Honestly, I spent like 3 hours last month trying to get my future log dates to line up perfectly across two pages. Ngl, I kept messing up the spacing for July and had to start over twice. I finally gave up and just used a ruler and pencil to lightly grid it out first, which I should have done from the start. Anyone have a better trick for setting up a yearly spread without the headache?

Watched a video once where someone used washi tape as a guide for straight lines. It actually worked pretty well for my weekly layout because you can just peel it off after. My perfectionist brain still made me measure the tape though lol.

Totally feel you on the ruler and pencil step, that's the only way I can do it now. My first yearly spread was a total mess because I just went for it with pen. Ended up with some months having 31 days crammed into a space meant for 30, it looked so bad. After that I started drawing the whole grid super light before any dates go in. It takes a bit longer at the start but saves so much frustration later.

Why even bother with all that measuring? I just freehand the whole yearly spread now. The tiny mistakes make it feel more personal, like a real thing I made. Obsessing over perfect lines defeats the purpose for me. My calendar works fine even if July is a little squished. It saves so much time and stress.
