Cut off my brother after he borrowed $3,000 and ghosted me for 6 months
I lent my older brother three grand to help with his car repair back in March. He stopped answering texts two weeks later and I finally told him not to bother paying me back if he couldn't even talk to me. Has anyone else had family just vanish after owing money?

So yeah, your brother probably feels like a total idiot too, but he's just doubling down on the bad decisions instead of manning up.

Give him a little credit though, he took the offer and ran with it. Six months of silence is honestly impressive commitment to avoiding a conversation, most people cave after like three ignored texts. I'm picturing him driving around in his fixed-up car with a big grin, windows down, pretending he doesn't have a brother. Maybe send him a bill for the ghosting fee next time, that's gotta be at least another $3,000.
