Just realized I was the toxic friend for 5 years after my sister recorded one of my rants

I was venting to my sister about how everyone kept ghosting me, and she played back a voicemail I left her where I spent 8 minutes criticizing a friend's new haircut, and I suddenly saw why that friend stopped answering my texts.

Yeah my buddy got one like that from his sister once... ended up not talking for like two weeks but he said it was the kick in the pants he needed to get his life together. Kinda wild how sometimes the harshest stuff is the most helpful.

Hard disagree on this one. That kind of harsh confrontation just builds resentment most of the time (trust me, I've seen it blow up plenty). My sister tried that "tough love" approach on me once and I just felt attacked, not motivated. It basically made me double down on my bad habits out of spite. Way better to just say "hey I'm worried about you" without all the judgment, you know?
