Rant: the $150 locksmith bill that finally made me cut off my brother
My brother had a key to my place for 3 months while I was crashing at my girlfriend's in Fresno, and he lost it, so I paid $150 for a locksmith to rekey everything at 11pm on a Sunday. That was the moment I stopped handing out keys, stopped letting him crash, and stopped answering his calls, and honestly it cost me way less than the years of free rent and bail money before it. Did anyone else finally walk away over something small that just happened to be the straw that broke it?
Read somewhere that most people don't cut family off over the big stuff, it's always some small thing that just tips it. Makes sense, cause the $150 isn't really the point, it's the years behind it. Good for you for finally calling it.
