The 3 email trick that finally ended my sister's guilt trips

After 6 months of her calling every Sunday, I switched to a dedicated folder and one reply per day at noon. She gets exactly 3 sentences max, no explanations, no excuses. Has anyone else tried a time limit like this or did you just go full no contact?

Isn't that just another way of hiding from a hard talk instead of actually fixing things?

Oh man, I actually read something about this last week. A therapist was saying that setting a time limit isn't hiding, it's just putting a boundary on the conversation so it doesn't take over your whole day. Sounds like you found a middle ground between totally cutting her off and letting her walk all over you.
