Told my sister I needed space after she kept borrowing money and never paying it back
It was about $600 over 6 months. Small amounts at first, like $20 for gas or $40 for groceries. Then $150 for a "bill emergency". I kept a note on my phone of every time she paid me back... zero. Last straw was when she asked for $200 to fix her car and I said no. She blew up at me, called me selfish. I haven't talked to her in 3 months. It's quieter now but I still feel guilty sometimes. Anyone else have family who acted like you were the bad guy for setting a boundary?

That projection is the oldest trick in the book. People who are dead wrong will scream the loudest and point fingers before you even get a word out. It's like they know they messed up and need to get their story out first to control the narrative. Once you see it happen a few times, you can spot it from a mile away. The quiet person sitting there minding their own business is usually the one telling the truth.

My cousin picked a fight with me at a family dinner back in 2019 and then told my mom I was the one who started it.
