Took 14 months to finally block my brother's fake apology accounts
Last year my brother kept making new burner profiles to send me these dramatic apology walls after I cut him off for stealing from my grandma's estate in Fresno. I spent 14 months blocking each one until I realized I could just set my profiles to private and stop accepting requests from anyone we both knew. Has anyone else had to deal with a relative who treats a block button like a game of whack-a-mole?
Man, I used to think blocking was pointless too, @blake792, honestly. But then I realized it wasn't about the messages themselves, it was about my grandma's stuff getting stolen and him never owning up to it. Each fake apology just kept reopening that wound, and I figured out the only way to win was to stop playing the game entirely. Going private was the best move, it took me way too long to figure that out. But yeah, 14 months was a dumb waste, but it taught me to stop handing out chances to people who don't deserve them.
