Brand new bandsaw blade snapped on the second cut yesterday
Been using the same supplier for 5 years, but this batch of blades feels thinner, anyone else run into quality dropping lately?

Gotta push back on the thinner blade thing - my experience has been the exact opposite. Bought a batch from a new supplier last month, blades were actually thicker than what I was getting before and they cut way better with less vibration. Might be worth checking if your supplier switched manufacturers on you without saying anything.

I had the same thing happen last month with a 1 inch blade from my usual shop. Check the tension right out of the box because these new thinner blades need way less than what you'd normally set. Also make sure your wheels aren't glazed up with old rubber dust, that'll pinch the band in a hurry.

Tried cleaning my wheels with a scotch brite pad and some rubbing alcohol and it made a huge difference. That glazed up rubber was definitely causing my blade to drift.
