Hit 10,000 pounds of ground beef processed this morning and my hands are done
I just wrapped up grinding 10,000 pounds this week alone for the holiday rush. That number hit me harder than I expected because I never track totals like that. My forearms are screaming and my grinder plate needs a serious cleaning after every 500 pounds or so. The smell of fat and metal is stuck in my nose and I'm not sure I'll ever get it out. Did anyone else hit a weird milestone that made you stop and think about the volume of meat you push through?

Hold on, is 10,000 pounds really that much though? I mean, a place like Sysco or US Foods probably pushes that through in an afternoon with automated gear. Bigger operations wouldn't even blink at that volume, they'd just swap out their Hobart blades and keep rolling. A guy I know at a USDA plant said they hit that before lunch on a slow Tuesday. Not trying to downplay your hustle, but maybe it's more about the setup you're running than the actual number...

Hobart doesn't make grinder blades lol. They make mixer bowls.
