Pro tip: Saw a shop in Denver using a band saw for all their primal cuts

They said it was faster, but I watched them go through three blades in a morning. The finish on the meat looked torn, not clean. Has anyone else tried this and found a way to make it work right?

Sounds like they just had the wrong blade on it.

Honestly, that shop might be onto something. A band saw set up right can fly through bone and save a ton of time on big animals. The blade breaks and rough finish just means they need a better tech, maybe a different tooth count and way less feed pressure. It's a power tool, not a gentle handsaw, so some tear is normal and gets trimmed anyway. Writing off the whole idea over one bad setup feels short-sighted.

Our shop in KC runs a 6-tpi blade, roberts.leo is right.
