Wasted $200 on a fancy bone saw and it couldn't cut through a pork shoulder

I bought this expensive bone saw from a catalog last month thinking it would make my life easier. Looked nice with the stainless steel blade and all. First job I used it on was breaking down a whole pig for some customers. Took me 20 minutes just to get through one shoulder blade and the blade kept binding up. Switched back to my old saw that I got for like $40 years ago and finished the rest in 5 minutes. Thing is sitting in my truck bed now just taking up space. Anyone else fall for that marketing hype on a tool that turned out to be junk?

Did your buddy file down the teeth or something, or was it just that bad out of the box?

Man I gotta say I disagree with you on this one. That saw probably just needed to be used right, maybe slower strokes or proper blade tension to keep it from binding up. I've seen guys spend good money on tools and blame the tool when it's really operator error, you know?

Yeah that's fair. I used to think the same way honestly, but after watching that video where he showed the blade tension gauge reading wrong on three different saws, I started paying more attention to the tool itself. Your point about operator error is usually right though, takes a while to figure out what's actually bad and what's just user mistakes.
