Found a $4 fix for my leaky thermos at a flea market in Tulsa
I have this old Stanley thermos I bought at a garage sale for $8 about 5 years ago, and the lid gasket finally gave out. I tried all the online hacks like boiling the gasket and flipping it, but no luck. Then I stopped at a flea market in Tulsa and an older guy had a bin of misc rubber rings. He pulled out one that looked kinda close and said "try this, it's a dollar." I brought it home, trimmed it with scissors to fit, and it's been holding hot coffee for 14 hours straight now. The whole fix cost me $4 including the trimmer. Has anyone else had a random junkyard part outlast the factory replacement?
