I beat my kitchen faucet drip with a $3 cartridge instead of a $280 new fixture
My kitchen faucet started dripping about 6 months ago and I was ready to just swap the whole thing out for a new one at around $280. Before I did that, a plumber buddy of mine in Boise told me to pull the handle and look at the cartridge first. Took me 20 minutes and a YouTube video to get it out, and the replacement cartridge was $3 at the hardware store down the street. Two months in and it hasn't dripped once, so now I'm second guessing every time I've ever replaced something big out of pure habit. Has anyone else had a cheap fix like that save them from a big purchase?
