My $18 can opener quit after 14 months and my grandma's 40 year old one still works
So the cheap one I got at Target in Boise started slipping on the gear last Tuesday. Wouldn't grab the lid, just chewed it up. I stood there fighting a can of black beans for like 3 minutes before I gave up and used a knife. My grandma pulled out her old Swing-A-Way from a drawer and it cut through the same can in one turn, smooth as anything. Now I'm wondering why I ever bought a plastic handled one at all. Where do people get the heavy old ones these days, thrift stores or is there a brand still made like that?
