My $18 rubber boots from the farm store outlasted my $200 hikers on the same muddy job site
I work deliveries part time and help a buddy pour concrete on weekends, so my boots take a beating. I bought a pair of $200 name brand hikers 14 months ago and the soles peeled off by month 8, but the $18 rubber boots I grabbed at the farm supply store in Kalamazoo are still going strong. The thing people keep getting wrong is thinking price equals life when it comes to boots, because a $18 pair that you can hose off and that never soaks through will beat a fancy pair that falls apart when it actually gets wet. I have worn the cheap ones 5 days a week since last March and the only thing I have replaced is the insoles. Anyone else find gear that costs almost nothing but just will not quit on you?
