My old Filson bag got roasted on Reddit, now I patch instead of replace
Posted a pic of my 20 year old duffel with a ripped seam and someone said I was being cheap for not buying new. That stung until I realized they were right about one thing, the canvas is still solid so I sewed a leather patch over it from a scrap belt. Cost me $4 for thread and an hour of sitting on my porch. Anyone else get told to toss gear that just needs a fix?

Ha, I once fixed a boot with a duct tape patch that lasted longer than the original sole, so I totally get the urge to Frankenstein everything. My whole house is basically held together with zipties and stubbornness at this point.
