Paid $180 for a titanium camping mug, now I think it was dumb

Last spring I bought a titanium mug from a brand everyone raves about online. Used it on three trips and it works fine, but my old $12 enamel cup from the thrift store does the same job. I dropped the titanium one on rocks in Shenandoah and it dented just like any other metal. The weight savings were maybe 2 ounces, which I honestly can't feel. Am I missing something about why titanium is worth the cash, or did I fall for the hype too?
