PSA: My $12 plastic dish rack cracked, so I tried a $60 stainless one and now I'm torn
Two years ago I bought a cheap plastic dish rack from Target for $12, and it held up fine until a crack showed up near the drain spout a few weeks back. So I grabbed a stainless steel one for $60 at a restaurant supply store in Austin, and it feels like it'll outlive me, but it also scratches my countertops and looks kinda ugly. The plastic one did its job for cheap but ended up in the trash, while the steel one will probably get passed down to my kids someday. Is it worth paying 5x upfront for something that lasts forever, or is disposable stuff the smarter play for small kitchen gear? Curious what side you all land on.
