I went through the same thing a while back, dropped cash on a "tactical" bag that was supposed to survive anything and the zipper busted after three months. What actually worked for me was finding a company that offers a real lifetime warranty, not just a "limited" one that covers nothing. Also, check the stitching and fabric weight before you buy, a lot of these brands just use hype and heavy marketing to hide cheap materials. I ended up with a bag from a smaller brand that builds stuff for military surplus, and it's been beat to hell without any issues for two years now. Just gotta look past the fancy ads and read what actual users say after owning it for a year.

Tbh the best advice I ever got was to check the warranty language carefully. "Lifetime" means nothing if it's pro-rated or doesn't cover wear and tear. I learned that the hard way with a camping backpack that fell apart after one season. Another thing that helped me was looking at repair forums or milsurp groups where people actually put stuff through hell. They don't fall for the flashy ads, they just post about what held up after years of abuse. Start there before you ever click add to cart.
