A client in Phoenix said my drawer slides felt cheap, so I switched to Blum Tandem undermounts.

They told me the old side mounts I used on their kitchen job felt wobbly and loud. I swapped them out for Blum Tandem undermount slides, which cost about $35 a pair more. The difference in how solid the drawers feel is huge. Anyone have a go-to brand for heavy-duty pantry drawers?

Man, I'm the guy who would've been the client complaining. My own kitchen drawers sound like a maraca band.

Ever open a drawer with the cheap slides after a year of heavy use? The wobble and that metal-on-metal grind when it's fully extended tells a different story.

Blum slides are way overpriced for what you get. I've used basic side mount slides from a hardware store for years and never had a complaint. That extra $35 per pair adds up fast on a big kitchen job. Most clients would never notice the difference if you just installed the cheaper ones correctly. Why spend more when the old way worked fine?
