Finally figured out why my drawer boxes kept racking, and it was a $4 fix
I've been fighting racked drawer boxes on inset cabinets for a while now, nothing crazy, just a hair off square on maybe 1 out of 5 boxes. Last Thursday I was building a set of 6 drawers for a kitchen in Boise and the third one racked on me again. Instead of clamping and muscling it square, I checked my assembly table with a machinist square and found it was off by about 1/16" over 30 inches. I shimmed one corner with a folded piece of paper, reglued the box, and it came out dead square. Did 5 more boxes after that with zero issues. Has anyone else had their table drift like that, or do you check it more often than I do?
