My domino just exploded during a glue-up in my shop last Thursday
Was using my Festool DF 500 to put some mortises in a walnut table apron and the cutter head just let go. Sounded like a gunshot, pieces flew everywhere, and the whole thing locked up. Anyone else had a domino fail on them or did I just get a dud unit?

You checked the serial number? Festool had a bad batch a while back.

honestly is it even that serious? i feel like everyone jumps to "bad batch" or "counterfeit" the second something doesnt work perfectly. i bought a festool sander like 2 years ago that had a weird wobble straight out of the box and it turned out the pad just wasnt seated right. took 2 seconds to fix. sometimes stuff just has a hiccup. plus who even checks serial numbers unless you got it from some sketchy facebook marketplace seller? if you got it from a legit dealer its probably fine.

That was actually model numbers, not serials though.
