Overheard a guy at the lumberyard say plywood's getting worse every year
He was buying 3/4 birch for a built-in and said his last batch from big box had voids in 4 out of 7 sheets, makes me wonder if suppliers are just pushing thinner cores down the line now, anyone else seeing that lately?
Did you actually count the plies when you cut into it, or are you just going by what the sticker said? Cause I've seen "7-ply" boards that had maybe 5 real layers and a couple of paper-thin ones glued in to pad the number. That's the real scam now. What brand was it, anyway? Just curious if it's the same junk I ran into last month.
