Pro tip: check your dado stack arbor nut after every few cuts

Had a Freud dado stack come loose on me yesterday while cutting some 3/4 ply for a kitchen job in Austin. The nut worked itself off after maybe 20 cuts because I didn't tighten it enough with the wrench. Now I keep a 5/8 box wrench right next to the saw and give it a quick snug every time I swap blades.

I get the caution but I think you're overdoing it with checking after every few cuts. If you're using the right wrench and snugging it properly, that nut should hold for way more than 20 passes. I tighten mine with a good firm pull, never had a Freud come loose on me yet.

Firm pull" on a Freud? You ever had one seize from over-torquing?
