Shop teacher said a 3/4 inch face frame gap is normal, then I measured 40 cabinets
Took a cabinetmaking class at the community college in Akron last fall. Instructor told us a 3/4 inch face frame reveal is standard so doors don't bind. Sounded off, so I measured every cabinet in my kitchen and my neighbor's. Most were 1/4 inch, some 3/8, not one was near 3/4. Ended up resetting all my doors with a 3/8 reveal and they swing clean. What reveal do you all run on your face frames?
