Showerthought: A client said my drawer slides felt cheap and now I only use full-extension undermounts.
They pointed out the wobble on a $4,000 built-in and I realized I was saving $15 a box on hardware that made the whole piece feel flimsy... anyone else have a small critique that made you overhaul a standard practice?

Saw a study once that tested drawer slides and the cheap ones actually wore out way faster under normal use. The wobble was just the beginning of the problems after a few thousand cycles. Makes you realize that $15 difference is basically buying a reputation hit for the rest of the piece's life.

Yep, that wobble is a dead giveaway.

Totally get what you mean about that wobble, @phoenix_bailey! It feels like so many things are built to fail just outside the warranty now. You see it in everything from cabinet hinges to phone chargers. That little shake is the first sign it's all going downhill, and it's honestly frustrating. Makes you wonder if anything is made to last a long time anymore.
