Showerthought: I thought pocket screws were just a quick fix for newbies.

My old boss in Portland swore by them for face frames, but I stuck with my mortise and tenons for a solid decade. After a rush job where I had to assemble six cabinet boxes in a day, I tried them and the joint was way stronger than I expected. What's one old school method you were wrong about?

My uncle in Seattle made me try pocket screws on a bookshelf project. Honestly, they held up better than my old dowel joints ever did.

My stubborn butt learned the same lesson last year.

My Portland shop teacher also swore by pocket screws for shop furniture.
